On 22–23 September 2026, CMMI hosted the Alliance4XR Vocational Excellence Event: Introduction and Application of XR Environment in the Marine and Maritime Sector at Alexander College in Larnaca, Cyprus.

The two-day event brought together professionals, educators, students and representatives from the maritime sector to explore how Extended Reality (XR) technologies can support training, education and professional applications.

The programme combined introductory and thematic presentations with hands-on activities, giving participants the opportunity to experience XR tools in practice and engage directly with immersive technologies. Participants also worked on practical XR-related activities with the support of trainers and guest speakers, encouraging discussion, experimentation and exchange of ideas.

The event created an opportunity to connect XR technology with real training and industry needs, while also highlighting the potential of immersive learning for the marine and maritime sector.
